LyricLingo.org Terms of Service
These Terms of Service explain the rules for using LyricLingo.org and its applications. They sit alongside your statutory protections under UK consumer law and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCCA).
1. Introduction and Acceptance
LyricLingo.org (“we”, “us” or “our”) provides Services that help people translate song lyrics. By accessing or using any of our websites, applications or tools (collectively the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not accept the Terms, please do not use the Services. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and do not override your statutory rights.
2. Description of the Services
Our Services let both registered and unregistered users submit, translate, store and share song lyrics, translations and related comments. The Services are designed for personal, non-commercial use unless you have a separate commercial licence from us. We may change or discontinue any portion of the Services at any time without notice.
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials safe and remain responsible for all activity carried out through your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. User Conduct and Content
You are solely responsible for all lyrics, translations, comments and other content you submit. You agree not to post unlawful, infringing, defamatory, obscene or otherwise objectionable content. Respect copyright law and only upload content if you own the rights, have the rights-holder’s permission, or the content is in the public domain.
The DMCCA prohibits fake or unverified reviews and misrepresentations. Posting or soliciting fabricated reviews, misleading endorsements or omitting material information is deemed an unfair commercial practice and is not allowed on LyricLingo.org.
5. Intellectual Property
Aside from user-generated content, the Services and all related intellectual property (including logos, software, code and content) belong to LyricLingo.org or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Services for lawful purposes. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute or create derivative works without our written consent. When you submit content you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, adapt and distribute that content to operate and improve the Services.
6. Subscription Contracts and Digital Content
If you purchase a paid subscription, we will clearly present key and full pre-contract information including fees, trial periods, payment frequency, renewal dates and cancellation rights. The DMCCA requires subscription contracts to avoid “subscription traps” and to offer separate disclosures for key and full information.
Your plan will only start once you have given informed consent. UK consumer law grants a 14-day cooling-off period during which you may cancel and receive any required refund. You can cancel at any time and we will make the process as simple as subscribing.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If digital content is faulty you may be entitled to repair, replacement or a price reduction. These protections sit alongside any guarantees we offer.
7. Payment and Pricing
All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include applicable taxes. We do not engage in “drip pricing”. The DMCCA outlaws advertising a low headline price and adding unavoidable fees later, so you will always see the full price, including all non-optional fees, before you purchase.
8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free and, to the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties. Our liability for any losses you suffer as a result of us failing to comply with these Terms is limited to the price you paid for the Services or, if no price was paid, £100.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LyricLingo.org, its directors and affiliates from any claims arising out of your use of the Services, your content or your breach of these Terms.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law or if we stop providing the Services. You may stop using the Services at any time. Provisions dealing with intellectual property, limitation of liability and governing law survive termination.
11. Changes to the Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. If changes are material we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the website. Continuing to use the Services after the effective date of the updated Terms means you accept the changes.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to the Services will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
